Racism Healing Circle

Dear friends,

“In Christ there is no Jew or Greek,  there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

What can I do?

This is the question I hear the most from people when confronted with issues of racism and injustice in our society.  It is an appropriate question to ask ourselves.  Consider these questions as the follow up to “What can I do?”.

Do you feel called to do the work of examining racism in your own life and in your community? Do you wonder how you are complicit in perpetuating racism in our society despite “not being a racist”? Does this whole issue leave you feeling uncomfortable, confused, guilty? Does this discomfort result in you doing nothing?

Are you interested in understanding the history of racism and discrimination in our society, and in your own lived experience? Do you desire healing and reconciliation? Do you want to be part of the solution?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, this is an invitation to come together in a safe, confidential, loving, and compassionate circle, to exchange resources, and to explore and confront the issues of systemic racism in our lives and society.

Please email me at if you are interested or have questions. We are meeting 7:30 to 9:00 on the second Tuesday evening of the month.  Upcoming dates: Tuesday, October 13, November 10.
For December only, the Racism Healing Circle will not meet the second Tuesday of the month. Instead we’ll gather Monday, December 14 from 7:30pm-9:30 with special guest, rev Claudette Taylor. Rev. Claudette is the Social Justice officer for York-Credit Valley and will lead us in a workshop around the issue of anger and how by addressing anger we have the potential to pave the way for healing and reconciliation around issues of racism.
